Still seeing websites remove their comments section because the promises of increased engagement can no longer materialize with Twitter and FB. Hard to engage when your comments section is filled with rabid insane idiots. I wouldn't be surprised if dumpster fire comments section turns people off from the website. So engagement is low and moderation is expensive therefore a comments section is not worth it.
If you want to comment on an article, now you'll have to go to another website to see if someone else cared enough to post about it and hope jackals haven't taken it over with their stupidity yet.
Unmoderated comments is something I've been railing against for over 10 years now. A moderated comments section which a lot of these website desire still to this day hasn't been offered. How stupid are people in general? Still? People are caught up in BS questions like who are the watchmen or who determines what is hate, negative comments or bad information?
Twitter and FB are not comments section instead they are overbroad filled with illiterate morons with the occasional gold nuggets of knowledge. They are on the decline because they got themselves caught up in people's bullshit takes on what is negativity, hate, bad information and who should be moderating. These products serve far less value today because of the illiterate and their enablers.
CBS News has even said fuck Twitter and suspended posting there due to what's going on over there with Elon being a moron. Twitter and FB should not be the place to discuss articles and a comments section should be low friction and HIGHLY moderated.
People are generally self interested at heart and I don't give a fuck about their mumbling about "free speech". I am not interested in highly illiterate hateful people. Fuck it, I will make an entry into this space in the near future to bring back comments to websites.
Objective morons will see themselves banned immediately. No proof of retarded election fraud claims? Say bye bye go back to Twitter. Go to the fringe media and smear them your political argumentative BS.
