I hope this is the last shift. I fully got rid of NodeJS from my public websites. This blog was the first to use Leptos for SSR for SEO purposes. I used CSR for a good amount of time with lit-element.
I got tired of NodeJS constantly breaking good working code with their needless changes. You can't really upgrade, so you are stuck, so I say F IT and just moved away from using it. Moving to rust for frontend meant far smaller binary sizes (300+mb -> 25mb) and 50% or more cut in memory usage for the same functionality. It's a massive improvement overall and Leptos is really great when it works as it is still rough around the edges.
I restructured Das Nonsense a bit, right now the main website redirects to opinion subdomain. I hope Google and whatnot will pickup the redirects. The WWW domain will soon point to a "Link Aggregator" site where I make the posts of links under some topics. I plan to add ads there since it will essentially be the sanitized version of Das Nonsense, the opinions area will still be ad-free so I can still mouth off there.
The primary motivation for the restructure is because of the Grump administration. There's just so much crap and I want to keep a list of things somewhere not on social media sites.
