Ones that think holistically and ones who admit to their shortcomings enough to refer you to other doctors who can evaluate the body holistically from there.
You'd think ER visit after ER visit that a doctor would've thought in their mind with their brain with their so called 'adequate training' that they'd be able to not want to do the same thing over and over expecting a different result. You'd think with their so called 'adequate training' that if a patient tells you they are looking for root cause of a problem that's been occurring for some time that they'd use their brains to come up with several causes and use those to come up with a list of doctors that you could potentially see with some ranking.
Naaaaaahh, just eat healthy and it'll all disappear or take blood pressure/Tylenol/NSAID medicines to make the symptoms go bye bye. It's antithetical to the idea of health and diagnostics. DIAGNOSING the ROOT CAUSE is not in their so called 'adequate training'.
How many kinds of doctors in the primary care space must one go to to get an adequate answer. Don't ask me because they all failed. I've gone to too many this year. I figured doctors in the internal medicine would've been adequate to YOU KNOW test urine, stool, etc. all past the usual common markers. Nah nope, 'dunno what's wrong so yeah visit again soon not sure what to talk to you about though!'
I'm glad I treat them as advisors, that I switch very quickly, because I got better answers from a different kind of doctor that I found in the area of Functional Medicine which combines proven and unproven methods. This kind of thing that I would be skeptical about, but the "regulated" health care system has failed me badly.
I've gone to doctors with and without using insurance, no difference. Insurance won't help with quality of doctors. I'd argue it makes them even greedier and more incompetent. I couldn't believe that a doctor with her staff at a large medical center couldn't even be bothered to properly schedule the simplest common free (w insurance) test at the medical center. I went to that center twice after being told that I could go there and do it. Utter garbage. Incompetence. 0 stars. F*ck you. Switched away my care from that doctor and wrote an angry message. Never had this problem ever when paying a doctor upfront w/o insurance.
You can put on the appointment notes some of the things you are looking to do and still somehow never get to it or all of it even though the notes should be the focus because the 'doctor' is more interested in cycling through.
Western healthcare is sh*t. The US healthcare system is sh*t. Complete and total utter garbage that needs to be destroyed. Doctors who only focus on MONEY MONEY MONEY. Fuck the western sickcare system. Bunch of quacks. No wonder there are many people disgusted by it and start to rely on under-regulated health car instead.
Primary care needs more rigor and less of the fluffy 'only looking for common causes' doctors. No one should have to cycle through "general" doctors to try to find out what's up. From the first visit, there should have been a list and a list of tests with things to measure. The common, uncommon and rare tests so you have an idea of what to look out for should you decide to schedule tests on your own given that you are on your own.
