How do you seek profit in a non profit seeking sector. Saving Human Lives and decreasing suffering is not inherently profit generating. It is a sector that mitigates and decreases losses in other industries. It cannot drive profit without causing losses elsewhere.
People wonder why some other countries have a better healthcare system. It's pretty darn apparent why. Their healthcare industries are motivated to seek stability rather than profit profit profit. Government based insurance only helps to put stability in an inherently loss driven sector. I have zero belief in the idea of America's healthcare industry becoming better with some sort of single payer insurance. It has a lot of problems and a major one being profit driven.
If it's socialist to stabilize an industry then let it be socialist. IDGAF.
Funny I found an article after writing this post that demonstrates a concrete example of profit seeking: https://www.propublica.org/article/cigna-medical-director-doctor-patient-preapproval-denials-insurance
