Read it and then read it again in a week and incorporate some of the styling because Statistics professors aren't going to help you. They don't care and you don't either mostly because they and you are looking for results. I wholly believe a style helps with reproducing code from memory and explanation of it. When called to share your code, you'll just open sores with bad looking/not commented code.
There is of course a few who do care about style and I'm sure they are software engineers. :)
