Wow, git post-merge hook changes my repo locations entirely. I used to have my repositories located in the same location as the production and staging directories, instead with post-merge hook I can have the repository in some other location and have the current working tree checked out into the staging directory once a merge has been performed. This simplifies deployment basically.
Why didn't I figure that out before? as I've seen it before. Mysteries.....
