2024 was just ok. Only released two applications multi platform. I wanted to release 3 applications at least with 2 games out at least. Shifting priorities and distractions led to only two applications. Ugh, ok. Better than 2023 at least.
2025 is more release financial oriented applications, one game and one lifestyle application. Both applications are backend server oriented, so these will be the first applications I release on mobile that contact a backend and have subscription plans. (pikachu shocked face). The hope is to grow subscriptions and find financial company partners to work with to promote their financial products within both applications. Obviously, the primary goal is to grow total number of members and cash flow.
Technical front, lots of things to upgrade. Ugh, but yeah it's for the better. Use more Rust and less of the other languages.
I also believe I will go find a company to work for full time again but on solution engineering front so I can have the chance to travel to customers rather than do purely backend engineering. I figure, well might as well see how much I can escape America and where would I like to go. Tokyo's city design was mind opening especially with how walkable it is, there's no city like it here in America.
America designs, in a hostile manner, for the rich and famous not for practicality and still fails at it. I don't see much of a point after all the cities I lived in to continue looking for a good walkable city here. Look, cars are great, but you should be able to just walk and Tokyo's done exactly that. Transportation when you need it, they've nailed. The fact my body would tolerate 1-2 hours of walking continuously there is enough to tell me I want to be a highly walkable city. I definitely needed better insoles on the trip, but managed with tissue in my shoes.
Anyway, I think going international is the next step for me. I plan to see some other countries, either meet up with randoms or some people I met in Japan if in their home country. Maybe it was just being polite with invitation to future meetings in Japan or otherwise. It's rose colored glasses as a guest in a country of course. People in their home countries go to other countries because they want to experience something new, something different.
That's my motto for the next few years: something new, something different. I can start with Job and Location.
